We are a primary care Pediatric office. Our providers will soon begin doing a very brief, 2 question depression screening with Yes or No answers for our adolescent patients. I have been researching this to find the most appropriate CPT code we should bill. Either 96127, 99420 or G0444. I believe code 96127 is most appropriate, but I need some other opinions. What would be the correct code for this screening?

Hi

We are a pediatric office as well and I bill 3725F to acknowledge that we have done a depression screening; we don't have a charge on the claim but it is to report to the insurance that we have done it and we use Z13.89 for the diagnosis code on the E/M line and with the 3725F code. I don't know if this answers your question but hope it helps.
