Hi there all!
I am receiving a lot of denials for depression and anxiety for family practice physicians saying that the office visit is not covered for this diagnosis.
My co-workers are telling me that sometimes insurance companies will cover these when you send an appeal that the condition was "organic". However, I am finding that these appeals are not getting paid. I don't want to waste my time appealing claims that won't be paid over and over again.
I am thinking that these patients just don't have mental health benefits and that is why they won't pay. Of course, I could be wrong, which is why I am here and I would love to hear what experience everyone has had with this.
Thanks,
Stella
