Hey all. I have a provider who is seeing patients for a confirmation of pregnancy, doing a pregnancy test, and doing an US all at the same time. Then they are bringing the patient in about 2 weeks later for her first OB episode (Ob global package). My question is, has anyone successfully had an insurance (commercial or medicaid) that has paid on both US? This is in Florida so we can not bill the US under the mid-level, it an only be billed under the provider so if the patient comes in at 7 weeks for her confirmation and has a trans vaginal US and then comes back in at 9 weeks for her first OB appointment and they do another trans vaginal US wouldn't they deny the second one as it is too close to the first?

Why are they doing two ultrasounds two weeks apart? Seems not medically necessary unless there are issues found on the first one.
