We have a new patient who is in need of fracture care. Patient's surgery is scheduled a few days after the initial visit. Casting was required at the time of the initial visit until the surgery can be done. Is the casting included in the surgical procedure?

If there is no other restorative procedure performed on the same date, then you can bill for the casting. You would not want to manipulate the bones back into place, charge for that, and then charge for the casting too.

Sounds like you have an office visit, X-rays and casting that would be billed.
