For California Medicaid there are weekly hour requirements for Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Services for Substance Use Disorder. Partial Hospitalization requires 20 hours per week and Intensive Outpatient requires 9 hours per week. If a patient steps down mid-week and does not meet the hourly weekly requirement, then what is reported and why? I do understand these are per diem daily codes but per California Medi-Cal they have weekly hour requirements as well. I'm just unsure what to do when the patient goes from Partial Hospitalization at the beginning of the week and then steps down to Intensive Outpatient mid-week and the required 20 hours of Partial Hospitalization are not met.
