Now on Codify by AAPC: Use the new, unified E/M Calculator with rules based on your DOS

Our popular evaluation and management (E/M) calculators are now combined into a single tool. Instead of having separate calculators for 1995 and 1997 Documentation Guidelines for Evaluation and Management Services, 2021 updates, and 2023 updates, the unified E/M Calculator applies the correct rules based on the date of service (DOS) you enter.

Subscribers to our Coder Search, Basic Coder, Pro Fee Coder, and Complete Coder packages have access to this upgraded tool.

Where to find it: Look under the Coding Tools menu for the E/M Calculator.

Getting started: Enter the DOS by clicking the calendar icon.

The tabs will change based on the DOS you enter. For instance, for a 2024 DOS, you won’t see the History and Examination tabs because you don’t use those elements for code selection in 2024. The content of the tabs will change, as well, to match the requirements for your DOS, including the latest updates.

After you enter the DOS, simply follow the instructions tab by tab until the E/M Calculator recommends the final code level for your E/M service.
