The lab analyst performs the technical lab test to analyze amines in the vaginal fluid. This test will give a positive or negative result, not a number value. Amines are a group of biochemical markers that may include methylamine, isobutylamine, putrescine, cadaverine, histamine, tyramine, and phenethylamine. These amines may cause some of the symptoms of nonspecific vaginitis.
