The provider performs a functional imaging technique for evaluation and identification of abnormal adrenal function. After administering an intravenous injection of a radiolabeled cholesterol or radioactive tracer, the provider schedules the patient to return for imaging within three to seven days depending upon the clinical reason for the study. The provider also orders other medications for the patient to take in a prescribed dose and time before returning for imaging.
