In this procedure, the provider performs imaging supervision and interpretation for percutaneous transhepatic portography. The provider injects contrast medium in the bile duct through a needle or catheter in the liver’s portal vein. He visualizes and checks the patency, or openness, of the portal system. The service includes hemodynamic evaluation, which provides a clear picture of blood pressure, blood flow, and how well the body transports oxygen in the blood to body tissues.
