In this diagnostic procedure, the provider performs a magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI imaging, of any of the joints of the upper extremity, which can be the shoulder, elbow, wrist, or joints of the hand. The provider performs the procedure first without using contrast and then again after injecting a contrast material.

I agree w/ response from Sacteam. The SC joint is an upper extremity joint. If the CC or DX involves the area where the clavicle & sternum meets, then codes 73221 - 73223 would seem appropriate.... [ Read More ]
