In this add–on procedure, the provider performs strabismus surgery on a patient who has had an eye injury or previously undergone an eye procedure but not involving the extraocular muscles. This service reflects the additional work to plan and perform a strabismus procedure or an increased level of difficulty in a procedure such as for excision of excessive scar tissue. Strabismus surgery is done to correct an imbalance in the eye muscles that control the movement of the eyeball.
