The provider administers an anesthetic agent, steroid, or both via continuous infusion through a catheter as a nerve block of the lumbar plexus to keep the target region anesthetized as long as required. Lumbar plexus is a network of nerves in the lumbar region that supplies the skin and muscles of the lower extremity. Catheter placement is included, so it should not be reported separately.
