The provider uses imaging guidance (live, real–time images projected on a video monitor) to place a catheter into an artery (endovascular) inside the skull (intracranial) for long–term administration of a drug that is not a thrombolytic (clot–dissolving) drug. He performs contrast–enhanced imaging of the vascular structures (diagnostic angiography). This code covers access for the first or initial artery.
