The provider surgically repairs a hypospadias in a second stage procedure, commonly six to twelve months after correction of an abnormal curvature of the penis and the first stage of the hypospadias repair. He also diverts the urine by placing a catheter into the patient’s bladder. The provider creates a distal urethra of greater than three cm in this procedure.
