In this add on procedure, the provider incises the abdomen and removes the abdominal lymph nodes including the lymph nodes of the stomach and pancreas. He may also remove the lymph nodes near the aorta and vena cava. He commonly removes regional lymph nodes in the abdomen for cancer of the intestines, stomach, pancreas, or other organs or structures of the abdomen.
