In this add–on procedure, the provider restores the blood supply in an additional narrowed or blocked ipsilateral, iliac artery through an endovascular, open or percutaneous approach after the same procedure on an initial vessel on the same side. He performs this procedure with transluminal angioplasty, a surgical procedure in which the provider places a balloon catheter at the site of occlusion, or blockage, in the blood vessel and inflates the balloon to expand the lumen of the vessel.
