In this procedure, the provider uses a catheter to insert one or more stents in the intrathoracic common carotid artery or the innominate artery. He may use an open or percutaneous antegrade approach. Antegrade means in the normal direction of flow. The service may include angioplasty. The provider performs radiologic supervision and interpretation for the procedure.
