In this procedure, the provider performs imaging supervision and interpretation for angiography performed by inserting a catheter through a distal artery into the thoracic aorta, internal carotid artery, and farther into the subclavian or innominate artery. He injects contrast material to take the X–ray images of the subclavian or innominate arteries and the ipsilateral vertebral circulation or of the cervicocerebral arch to detect any vascular disease.
