In this procedure, the provider surgically removes a blood clot from the pulmonary artery and may perform an embolectomy. This service is done to treat chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, or the ongoing high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries that occurs from clots that clog the arteries in the lungs.
