The provider performs a laryngoplasty, or surgical repair of the larynx (voice box) and/or its structures, in a child younger than 12 years of age, using a tracheotomy to access the larynx; after dilating and releasing webs as necessary, he places a cartilage graft on the larynx and inserts an indwelling stent for stability of the larynx and trachea (windpipe) and to correct laryngeal stenosis, or narrowing.
