In this procedure, the provider surgically repairs an intranasal choanal atresia, an acquired or congenital condition causing a blockage of the choana, an inverted funnel shaped passageway from the back of the nose to the upper throat that allows for breathing through the nose. The provider performs the repair through a transpalatine approach, or through an incision in the roof of the mouth.
