In this procedure, the provider performs an open reduction of a fracture of the femur (thigh bone) that extends above or across the condyle and into the space between the condyles, which may require the use of hardware, such as plates, screws, nails, and/or wires to stabilize the fracture. The goal of the procedure is to ensure correct alignment of the bones to promote early healing of the fracture.
