In this procedure, the provider treats the condylar fracture of the femur by inserting a pin, screw, or wire through the skin and into the bone. The provider may also perform correction for an intercondylar extension or distal femoral epiphyseal separation. The goal of the procedure is to attain the stability of the fracture to ensure healing of the bones in a normal alignment.
