In this procedure, the provider reconstructs the complete shoulder in a patient with chronic rotator cuff tear or rupture. He also performs an acromioplasty, a procedure in which the provider shaves a portion of bone from the underside of the acromion process to release abnormal pressure that it might be causing on underlying muscles or tendons.
