The provider uses a catheter to implant a small, wireless sensor in the left atrium of the heart. This sensor monitors left atrial pressure over time. The procedure includes right heart catheterization (insertion of a catheter into the right side of the heart), a transseptal puncture (piercing the septum to access the left atrium), and the use of imaging to guide the placement and calibration of the sensor. The code also includes radiological supervision and interpretation.
