Summary
The provider passes a flexible endoscope through the mouth and into the esophagus, the tube from the mouth to the stomach. The provider uses mechanical means to dilate an esophageal stricture (narrowing). The provider then uses a drug–coated balloon catheter to deliver drug therapy for the stricture. The provider may use fluoroscopic guidance for the procedure.
