Report 0257U only for Very–Long Chain Acyl–CoA Dehydrogenase (VLCAD) Enzyme Activity, from Children’s Hospital Colorado Laboratory, on a blood specimen. The test uses tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) to measure the levels of VLCAD enzyme activity in leukocytes to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning for VLCAD deficiency, which is a severe disorder of fatty–acid metabolism.
