Count Parts for Prosthesis Implant Coding

Question: Which code should I report for a two-piece penile implant? I use 54400 for a one-piece and 54405 for a three-piece, but am not sure what to report for a two-piece implant.

Answer: A two-piece penile prosthesis would be a multi-component implant, so you should report 54405 (Insertion of multi-component, inflatable penile prosthesis, including placement of pump, cylinders, and reservoir) rather than 54400 (Insertion of penile prosthesis; non-inflatable (semi-rigid)).
