Question: A patient has a sperm granuloma on the end of his spermatic cord (stump) after he had the right testicle removed. The physician is going to do an inguinal incision and remove the rest of the spermatic cord. How should I report this procedure?

Answer: You should report 55520 (Excision of lesion of spermatic cord [separate procedure]) for this procedure. Use diagnosis code 608.89 (Other specified disorders of male genital organs, [ICD-10: N50.8, Other specified disorder of male genital organs]).
