Answer: You should report either code 52317 (Litholapaxy: crushing or fragmentation of calculus by any means in bladder and removal of fragments; simple or small (less than 2.5 cm)) or 52318 (Litholapaxy: crushing or fragmentation of calculus by any means in bladder and removal of fragments; complicated or large (over 2.5 cm)).

You should query your urologist about the size of the calculus. For simple or small calculus less than 2.5 cm, you should report 52317. On the other hand, for complicated or large calculus over 2.5 cm, you should report 52318. For fragmentation of multiple bladder calculi of any sizes in one sitting, report 52318.

Litholapaxy defined: Litholapaxy is a technique of crushing a stone and washing out the fragments of stone.
