Question: How should we bill for removing a stent in an ambulatory surgical center (ASC)? Indiana Subscriber Answer: You should report CPT 52310 (Cystourethroscopy, with removal of foreign body, calculus, or ureteral stent from urethra or bladder [separate procedure]; simple) for removing the stent. However, physician payment will be less than if performed in the office because of the site reduction. facility fee of about $430 will be made to the ASC.
