One of my doctors did a cystoscopy with removal of stones from a prostatic channel false passage. What would be an appropriate code for this? Illinois Subscriber
Answer:
For the cystoscopy with stone removal from the prostatic channel false passage, you should report either 52310 (
Cystourethroscopy, with removal of foreign body, calculus, or ureteral stent from urethra or bladder [separate procedure]; simple) or 52315 (
... complicated) depending on the size and number of stones removed.
Assign diagnosis code 602.0 (Calculus of prostate) for the prostatic calculi/stones.
