New bundles will keep you current
The National Correct Coding Initiative ( Ncci Edits ), version 10.0, released the following urology-related bundles that take effect Jan. 1.
Use this quick key for easy access to the latest changes involving comprehensive codes CPT 53500 (Urethrolysis, transvaginal, secondary, open, including cystourethroscopy [e.g., postsurgical obstruction, scarring]) and CPT 57425 (Laparoscopy, surgical, colpopexy [suspension of vaginal apex]). You must bundle the components codes in the center column into the comprehensive code in the left column.
*Status indicator "0" means you may never unbundle the procedures, regardless of the circumstances. Status indicator "1" means you may use modifier -59 (Distinct procedural service) to unbundle the procedures, but only under certain circumstances.
