Track the Biggest RVU Gainers for 2005

Next year brings nosebleed-inducing climbs in reimbursement for some urology procedures - here are a few of the biggest changes you can expect With staggering changes to the 2005 Fee Schedule , keeping track of whether you are receiving accurate reimbursements from your carriers can be difficult - but it just got easier. For those services that allow a higher amount when performed in the office, use this chart to be sure your carrier adheres to the 2005 fee schedule beginning January 1, 2005.

Note: The reimbursement is calculated by multiplying the nonfacility RVUs for a procedure by the conversion factor ($37.3374 in 2004, $37.8975 in 2005). The figures are rounded and are not adjusted for geographic region.

This is only a representative sample. The final rule appears in the Nov. 15 Federal Register. To download the 2005 fee schedule, visit www.cms.hhs.gov/regulations/pfs/2005/1429fc.asp.
