Providers can continue providing telehealth services with the added funds. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved more providers and added funds to its COVID-19 Telehealth Program. Background: In March 2020, the CARES Act funded the COVID-19 Telehealth Program with $200 million, but the FCC quickly went through that money and halted the program. Then in March 2021, the FCC relaunched round 2 with an additional $250 million in funding from the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021. Now: On Dec. 21, 2021, the FCC announced that it had approved the applications of 68 providers and would begin distributing more than $42.7 million from the program.
