Question: How can we code for placement of localization device placed after breast cyst aspiration done with US guidance??

Answer: Because your provider has performed the placement of localization device under ultrasound guidance, you may use the code 19285 (Placement of breast localization device[s] [e.g., clip, metallic pellet, wire/needle, radioactive seeds], percutaneous; first lesion, including ultrasound guidance).
If, however your provider had not used ultrasound guidance for this procedure, then you will have to append modifier 52 (Reduced services) to the code 19285.
