Track Your PET Scan Tracer Codes

Did you catch CMS' update on radiopharmaceutical coding? When you code a PET scan service, you could check your Medicare Claims Processing Manual to be sure you're using the right codes for radiopharmaceuticals--or you could reference this quick and easy chart.

CMS released Transmittal 628 on July 29, 2005, to point out the proper HCPCS Code for these imaging agents for services after Jan. 28, 2005.

You'll find the transmittal on the Web at www.cms.hhs.gov/Manuals/pm_trans/R628CP.pdf.
