Kentucky Subscriber Answer: In addition to the primary procedure, which is not listed, you will report CPT® code +37252 (Intravascular ultrasound (noncoronary vessel) during diagnostic evaluation and/or therapeutic intervention, including radiological supervision and interpretation; initial noncoronary vessel…) for the infra-renal vena cava. For the iliac veins indicated in the report, you will report +37253 (Intravascular ultrasound (noncoronary vessel) during diagnostic evaluation and/or therapeutic intervention, including radiological supervision and interpretation; each additional noncoronary vessel..). You should indicate if the procedure is bilateral by appending modifier 50 (Bilateral procedure). Important: When coding an intravascular ultrasound procedure on arteries and veins, you will code per vessel to ensure proper reporting.
