Question: A technique in the dictation report for an X-ray of the forearm states one view and two images. Does this meet the criteria for 73090? Texas Subscriber Answer: You should not confuse the number of images taken with views performed during the X-ray. A provider may have multiple images taken of the same view, but that still only counts towards a single view. In this example, since there is only one view documented, you should report code 73090 (Radiologic examination; forearm, 2 views) with modifier 52 (Reduced Services).
