Don't Discriminate Against Medicare No-Shows

Question: Is there a code to report a missed appointment to Medicare? Delaware Subscriber Answer: In short, no. You should not report missed appointments to Medicare. Medicare says you may charge the patient directly, but you may not submit a missed appointment charge on your Medicare claim. Also, you may not charge only Medicare patients for missed appointments. You should charge Medicare and non-Medicare patients the same amount for the lost business opportunity.
