Defining Infant

Question: How do most payers define an infant, in regards to CPT Codes 73092 (radiologic examination; upper extremity, infant, minimum of two views) and 73592 (radiologic examination; lower extremity, infant, minimum of two views)?

Answer: Most carriers define an infant as a child younger than 366 days old. As always, however, you should confirm this with your local carriers.
