Take a Sneak Peek at How CPT 2008 Affects IR Codes

Discover which Category III code finally gets promoted to Category I The new year -- and the requirement to use CPT 2008 codes -- is fast approaching. Get a head start by checking out these hints at what's to come. • CPT may delete 74350 (Percutaneous placement of gastrostomy tube, radiological supervision and interpretation) and 43750 (Percutaneous placement of gastrostomy tube) because the AMA may include RS&I in the proposed new percutaneous gastrostomy tube placement code 49440. • CPT 2008 may replace Category III code +0153T (Transcatheter placement of wireless physiologic sensor in aneurysmal sac during endovascular repair, including radiological supervision and interpretation and instrument calibration [list separately in addition to code for primary procedure]) with new Category I code 34806, which would also include pressure data collection.
