Report A9555 to reap the benefits of this PET rate hike Is your physician one of the many who's adding rubidium-based PET to your imaging services? Rubidium is making a comeback thanks to CMS' decision to increase the hospital APC reimbursement from $736 in 2005 to $2,485 in 2006 for myocardial PET perfusion imaging involving multiple studies at rest and/or stress.

Key: Many coders mistakenly report A4641 (Supply of radiopharmaceutical diagnostic imaging agent, not otherwise classified), but you should report the more specific A9555 (Rubidium rb-82, diagnostic, per study dose, up to 60 millicuries).
