Mix and Match Provider Info for These Mammo Claims

If you have an out-of-jurisdiction purchased exam, CMS has news for you. Add one more item to your denial-prevention to-do list. If you bill a mammogram as a purchased service and your practice purchases the service from another billing jurisdiction, you must include the following or the carrier will return your claim as unprocessable: • the billing provider's NPI • the name, address, and ZIP code of the performing physician/supplier. The effective date is Dec. 1
