Fluoroscopy Clip-and-Save Chart:

Get Paid for Fluoroscopic Guidance Every Time

Reporting fluoroscopic guidance with epidural injections is a challenge for even the most seasoned radiology coders, so the following clip-and-save chart can help you determine when the fluoroscopy codes apply to your injection claims.

Effective Jan. 1, 2003, the National Correct Coding Initiative started bundling CPT 72275 into the epidural codes 62310 and 62311. Append modifier -59 (Distinct procedural service) to 72275 only if you perform epidurography and an epidural injection during separate sessions on the same date of service.

Remember that the physician must provide a formal radiological report when reporting the epidurography radiological supervision and interpretation code.
