Question: Can we report 94060 for continuous positive airway pressure ventilation (CPAP) initiation and management via telehealth for a Medicare patient? If so, what are the documentation requirements? Alaska Subscriber Answer: The correct code for CPAP initiation and management is 94660 (Continuous positive airway pressure ventilation (CPAP), initiation and management).Keep in mind, however, that 94660 is not on CMS’ list of approved telehealth services. You will find some commonly performed pulmonology procedures on the list, such as 94664 (Demonstration and/or evaluation of patient utilization of an aerosol generator, nebulizer, metered dose inhaler or IPPB device), but the CPAP initiation is not among them. Therefore, you’ll want to have the patient present for a face-to-face visit before you can report 94660.
