Question: What is the correct way to bill for maximum inspiratory pressures (MIPs) and maximum expiratory pressures (MEPs)? We are now using an unlisted-procedure code.

Answer: You are correct in using unlisted-procedure code 94799 (Unlisted pulmonary service or procedure) to report maximal respiratory pressures. CPT contains no specific code for the measurement of MIPs and MEPs.
