Answer: Code 94060 (bronchospasm evaluation: spirometry as in 94010, before and after bronchodilator [aerosol or parenteral]) specifically requires the use of a bronchodilator such as albuterol. The documentation would show a spirometry taken prior to administration of the bronchodilator, administration of the bronchodilator and then a postadministration spirometry. The physician is comparing the two readings and making a treatment decision based on the noted differences.
