Recipe for Billing Success:

Drive Your Capitation Status Home Every Time

Avoid hassles by sending a form letter to secondary payers If secondary payers keep processing your capitation claims and paying you in full, here's a helpful tip. Attach a form letter like this one from Melinda S. Brown, CMBS, insurance biller for a primary-care provider in Kennewick, Wash., to the explanation of benefits (EOB) that you submit to the secondary payer. Hopefully this will alert them of your physician's capitation status and you won't have to keep sending refunds because they-re overpaying you.
