Focus on 10 Key Points to Perfect Your MU Attestation

Like many practices, you may have implemented an electronic health record (EHR) system and are hoping to capture some federal funding by attesting to your meaningful use (MU) of that EHR. If so, you should take note of guidance from the HHS Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC).
ONC released a 10-step plan (www.healthit.gov/providers-professionals/ehr-privacy-security/10-step-plan) that providers can use to protect privacy and security, and thus comply with MU requirements. Make sure you start these 10 steps at least 90 days before the date you target to start the EHR incentive program, ONC stresses.
